About Us

Creating new opportunities. Protecting the vulnerable. Producing change.

RCD (Rassemblement des Citoyens pour le Developpement du Sud-est) is a non-profit organization established by young professionals of Musac, Haiti in 2007. They envisioned that bringing the community together for the purpose of "Creation, Protection, and Production" would accomplish a greater good for everyone. Creating new opportunities. Protecting the vulnerable. Producing change.

They are accountants, students, masons, and teachers. Mothers, fathers, and agronomists. They care and commit their time. All coming together to lift up their community with the gifts that God has given them.

In 2011, RCD received official certification from the Ministry of Social Affairs of Haiti.

This group of approximately 80 people from the Musac community was founded and is still lead by Emmanuel Ladouceur, the principal of the Government School of Musac. He has grown up in Musac, attending university to become a teacher and principal. A community leader and man of strong faith in God, Emmanuel persists for the good of others and he inspires all in RCD to do the same.

A relationship was developed in 2013 between RCD and HAPI, Haitian Artisans for Peace International. HAPI is a faith based non-profit organization that has an extraordinary presence in Musac with projects like a health clinic, micro-loan program, artisan opportunities, etc. They have an established Memorandum of Understanding with RCD to receive donations on behalf of RCD, transferring those donations to RCD volunteer staff. RCD and HAPI are very like-minded in their investment in the Musac community. (See

Musac, Haiti is a rural mountainous community near the south-eastern coast of Haiti with an approximate population of 35,000 people. Most people in this community support their families through subsistence farming. It is a beautiful area with beautiful people. But the living conditions are difficult in Musac, as many families make less than $1US/day. One of their greatest assets is the willingness of people to work together to help one another, bettering their community.
